The proposed One Big Sky Center would include the tallest building in Montana. The Billings City Council approved a pre-development memorandum of understanding with the developers during its Monday meeting.
On Monday night, the Billings City Council took the first step toward possible development of a major downtown project.
City staff had recommended approval.
“Approving the MOU will allow city staff, the developers and the city’s legal and financial consultants to work on a development agreement that should be completed by June 30, 2017,” assistant city administrator Bruce McCandless wrote in a memo to the council.
The prospect of One Big Sky Center is exciting -- a magnet for attracting business, residents, shoppers and conventions to the heart of our city. The scope of the proposed $165 million project is daunting. It would be the biggest single project in downtown and the biggest project for the developers, MontDevCo, LLC.
