A new 38,000-square-foot base lodge is officially becoming part of the landscape at Mount Snow's all terrain-park face Carinthia.
The project was started in 2014, Deutsch said Monday during a groundbreaking ceremony. Fundraising through the federal EB-5 program, which allows foreign investors to get permanent residency in the United States by committing dollars to projects promised to create jobs, proved challenging.
Some scrutiny of the program had come out of alleged fraud at Jay Peak Resort. Although Mount Snow was not involved in the controversy, the resort experienced delays with getting its $52 million for the new base lodge and snowmaking improvements.
