An massive ongoing ferris wheel construction project in New York is gaining the support of Chinese investors hoping to get a green card from the project, reports Yicai, the online portal of Shanghai's China Business News.
The giant wheel, to scrape 630 feet in height and hold 36 pods, is part of a larger site in Staten island slated to hold a hotel, restaurants and an outlet mall. If the project is completed by 2017, visitors will have panoramic views of New York City.
The project, to cost just US$500 million for the wheel alone, has garned US$170 million in investments from 300 Chinese investors looking for a green card through the EB-5 program.
