Officials believe funds will help other development east of I-10
In the aftermath of PhoenixMart’s offices being searched by the FBI Thursday morning, some residents used social media to voice their worries of how it might stall the project.

Another posted how “property owners will have to pick up the loss” if PhoenixMart is never completed.
The city has an agreement with AZ Sourcing, the parent company planning the wholesale sourcing center, to pay $5.2 million of a $10 million project to extend a 21-inch sewer line east of Interstate 10.
In a statement released Friday, the city said $172,000 has been spent so far on the pre-construction of the sewer line, but no public funds have gone toward the physical construction of it.
