Two new hotels planned near SeaWorld Orlando could bring in firsts for the Central Florida market — including one that is so new, it's still a prototype flag.
Miramar-based Riviera Point Development Group, which bought 3.3 acres at 11551 International Drive for $3.8 million, plans to bring two 100-room hotels including a La Quinta Del Sol, which is a new upper mid-scale prototype hotel from La Quinta, and a possible Radisson Red, another new upscale hotel brand that currently has only three locations worldwide.
The hotel has a modern and elegant design that embraces bright colors and patterns.
"We intend to have our approvals by June or July next year to start construction. The whole complex will be built in two stages over about 30 months. We will finish the La Quinta Del Sol first and open it up in early 2019 with the possible Radisson Red flag six to nine months after that," Carlos Chuman, finance and acquisitions manager with Riviera Point, told Orlando Business Journal.
