Federal prosecutors are investigating the real estate firm owned by the family of Jared Kushner, President Donald Trump's son-in-law and senior adviser.
That's according to The New York Times, citing sources who say authorities are looking into the real estate company’s use of the EB-5 program.
The program is meant for foreigners to gain residence if they invest $500,000 in targeted areas of high unemployment.
The story centers around two luxury properties in New Jersey where Kushner Cos. received $50 million in low-cost financing by using a tactic that is akin to the gerrymandering of legislative districts.
