USD vs RMB. Chinese investors sought EB5 visas but have been stymied by the backlog in processing such cases.
The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) allots 10,000 EB-5 visas every year for eligible foreign investors. Once regarded as “the most popular residency program in the world,” in 2014 and 2015 the USCIS stopped accepting EB-5 applications after they reached the quota set by Congress. Research shows that approximately 85 percent of those granted EB-5 green cards have been Chinese nationals.
